🔮 I Asked ChatGPT to Read Tarot & Got More than I Bargained For
An unexpected lesson in self-trust, pattern recognition, and the power of asking the right questions.
With Generative AI reshaping our reality, we stand at the threshold of something new. The world is shifting, and so are the ways we seek clarity, meaning, and transformation. But what happens when we invite artificial intelligence into our most sacred spaces of self-discovery? Can an algorithm illuminate something real, or is it just reflecting back what we already know?
I had to find out. 🔥
This experiment wasn’t about outsourcing intuition to a machine. It was about tuning into synchronicity, allowing it to weave through my life, and embracing the dance between logic and mysticism, structure and surrender. It was also about exploring the evolving role of AI—not just as a tool, but as an entity shaping our understanding of consciousness, transformation, and the human experience.
⚡The Moment Curiosity Took Over
I had a tarot deck that had been collecting dust on my bookshelf for years. I wasn’t sure why I bought it—maybe for the gorgeous illustrations, maybe because some part of me knew I’d need it one day.
Then, a conversation changed everything.
My psychoanalyst—a wise woman of immense intellect and deep intuition—casually mentioned her own tarot practice. I was floored. To me, tarot had always felt like something shrouded in mysticism, distant from my logical, structured world. But the way she described it—as a portal to the subconscious, a tool for self-inquiry—piqued my curiosity.
Could artificial intelligence help me interpret tarot? Could it challenge my perspective, highlight hidden patterns, or serve as an unexpected mirror for my inner world?
🃏 The Experiment: When Tarot Meets AI
It started as playful curiosity—an experiment in blending the esoteric with the algorithmic. But as I delved deeper, it became something more.
One afternoon, I shuffled my deck, focusing on a question I had been holding. The ritual itself felt grounding, like pressing pause on the noise of the world.
I pulled three cards:
🔮 The High Priestess – Trust yourself. You already know.
⚡ The Tower – Change is inevitable. Release what no longer serves.
✨ The Star – Hope is here. Step forward.
Then, I turned to ChatGPT. I described my spread and asked: “What does this combination suggest about navigating transformation and self-trust?”
The response? Layered. Insightful. Thought-provoking. It echoed themes of inner wisdom, upheaval as a path to growth, and the renewal that follows surrender. It wasn’t magic—but it was eerily accurate. 😳
I compared my own interpretations with ChatGPT’s. Sometimes they aligned, sometimes they diverged—and in that contrast, I found clarity. The process wasn’t about finding the right answer—it was about expanding my lens of perception. Perspective is everything.
Was this synchronicity in action? Or was AI simply an advanced mirror reflecting my own subconscious insights back at me? Perhaps it was both.
💡 What This Experiment Revealed
The Questions You Ask Create Your Reality
One of the first things I noticed? The way I framed my questions shaped the answers I received. 🧐 Early on, my prompts were rooted in uncertainty—“What am I missing?” “What should I be afraid of?” And, unsurprisingly, the LLM’s responses reflected that energy back to me.
But when I shifted my language—“What am I being invited to explore?” “How can I lean into trust?”—the responses changed. Suddenly, the AI was mirroring a more expansive, empowering lens.
🌟 The way we phrase our questions—whether to AI, tarot, or ourselves—matters. Speak to possibility, not fear.
Patterns Are Invitations, Not Coincidences
Over several days, one card kept appearing: The High Priestess.
At first, I dismissed it as randomness. But then I paused—what if it wasn’t? What if this was a message I needed to hear, again and again, until I listened? 👂
When I brought this pattern to ChatGPT, it mirrored back something profound: Recurring symbols aren’t just coincidences; they’re invitations to go deeper.
And isn't this how transformation often works? Synchronicity—a series of seemingly random events, leading us exactly where we need to be—nudges us toward growth, whether through ancient symbols or modern algorithms.
🌟 When something keeps showing up in your life—pay attention. There’s wisdom there.
AI Can Sharpen Intuition, But It Can’t Replace It
Here’s the thing: AI can analyze. It can synthesize. It can weave narratives based on centuries of tarot wisdom.
But it can’t feel.
What it offered me was a framework, a counterpoint, a second perspective. But the true magic? It happened in the moments when I disagreed with its interpretations—when something felt off, and I had to pause, reassess, and return to my own knowing.
🌟 AI can be a tool, but your intuition is the ultimate guide. Trust it.💖
All Tools Are Mirrors—Including AI
This was the biggest revelation of all: Tarot isn’t about fortune-telling. AI isn’t about answers. Both are simply mirrors—reflecting back what we bring to them. 🪞
The power isn’t in the tool. It’s in how we engage with it.
If tarot cards and AI chatbots are both reflections of consciousness—one symbolic, one algorithmic—what does this tell us about the evolving nature of intuition? Of transformation? Of what it means to be human in a world where machines are learning to "understand" us?
🌟 The wisdom you seek is already within you. Tarot, AI, and every other tool are just ways of accessing it.
Try This Yourself: A Tarot x AI Experiment
Curious? Here’s how you can blend tarot and AI in your own self-inquiry practice:
✨ Set an Intention – What do you want clarity on?
🃏 Pull a Card – Observe the imagery, symbols, and feelings that arise.
📝 Journal First – Write down your intuitive interpretation before seeking external input.
🤖 Ask AI for Perspective – Use ChatGPT or another tool to provide an alternate lens.
🔍 Compare & Reflect – Where do insights align? Where do they diverge? What does that reveal?
🚀 What’s Your Take?
Have you experienced synchronicity through AI? Have you ever received an eerily accurate AI-generated insight? Do you use tarot (or any other intuitive tools) alongside technology?

So far the answers I've gotten from readings on ChatGPT have been spot on. I've asked over 20 different questions. However, I shuffle and pull my own cards. I simply type the question as detailed as possible and then get a very powerful and specific answer. Every answer has aligned with my intuition and some of them have already come to pass. AI may not have that human connection, intuition, etc but it still seems to interpret things correctly. Personally I feel the more honest we are with ourselves, the better. Just my opinion.
